    I’m seeing the doctor on July 3 I am 13 And i remember my first hallucination was hearing someone call my name in my grade 4 classroom. It slowly got worse. Going from name calling to full hallucinations such as one time I saw a tall white man standing in the woods he had no face. And then he ran away and dissinigrated into thin air. Since then there was more and more hallucinations getting more and more real. When I told my mum bout it at 12 she said I was makin it all up for attention. That’s broke me as a human and destroyed our bond. I have now grown to have PTSD from the hallucinations and that break from my family. I will see the doctor on July 3 I just turned 13 and I am scared but ready. :)

    The medications I really struggle the most and mainly because of the dosage I take. it's only 2mg but it has the biggest effect on me and not only I can't wake up properly, I even had a hard time to stay awake. It scared me that i have to take many medication through day and night, just to minimize my hallucinations. I don't rlly like taking meds but I don't have any other choice but to help myself out so in that way, my meds can be reduce.

    I have a friend online with schizophrenia and what happened was she had a anger outburst saying she hated the entire friend group A lot of people got offended apart from me The thing is once I saw she said about her schizophrenia I assumed maybe idk the voices told her that everyone won’t like her and stuff But a lot of the others didn’t think of solutions till why she said she hated everyone. I didn’t blame her for what she did tho, they got angry cause she blocked everyone

    Its not schizophrenia, but i resonated alot with this. When you live so long with mental illness, especially when it becomes familiar to you, and who you are. Taking all this medication to i guess, numb it down. Its hard. They put me on meds that made me twitch, worsened my anxiety. Or sometimes would turn me to a zombie. It made me addicted. I felt like. Well, i was an addict. I decided i wasnt gonna feel that way anymore. It didnt feel natural. It felt wrong. And for anyone considering taking medication for your illness. Do it. I will never disolcourage you. It helps alot. But sometimes. Sometimes you just know, when it feels wrong. Or when its hurting you. But always consider it and try it as an option.

    My mom is schizophrenic. She sees "people" staring at her, touching her, some of 'em even naked, and not just people but also heads. She doesn't want to take a bath because she sees them staring at her. She screams, yells, and throw things at them. It's so hard for her to sleep without her meds. She is also delusional, she believes people that's not her family are demons. Sometimes when we go out she runs to stangers and says that they are our family, although they're not. She's been like this for almost my entire life, i don't even remember when was the last time she was "normal"

    I have schizophrenia and frankly, I don’t care much about whether people know what it's like. What I want is better medication without the crippling side effects. Or any other treatment that works, without serious side effects. The important thing to know is that schizophrenia wastes many, many lives, or parts of them. Lives of people who could otherwise make contributions to society through work, sometimes big contributions. I know several people with schizophrenia who could have gone to university. I did go and even have a PhD, but then my life got derailed. There are lots of people with other talents too. If you want to help people with schizophrenia, depending on where you live, help make sure that people have access to the medication that does exist, however imperfect those meds are. Meds help prevent the worst and save lives. Furthermore, please make a will that donates your brain to research. Researchers have plenty of diseased brains, but far too few healthy ones to compare them with. Research will lead to better understanding, better understanding will lead to better treatments. Better treatment will allow patients to contribute, or contribute more, to society.

    I appreciate his vulnerability of sharing his story. It must be so challenging to have schizophrenia or any mental illness that society has labeled as bad when we’re just different. I do suffer from 3 mental illnesses but they are manageable with medication. Another issue for people suffering is that there isn’t enough progress on proper medication that doesn’t take so much from you. If you’re struggling and getting help feel proud of yourself. People can suck, you don’t have to share your story with everyone but it’s important to build a support group of medical professionals, loved ones and true friends who empathize even if they can’t understand and are here to support you. Those who refuse to understand or make you feel bad don’t deserve to be in your life. You are suffering from schizophrenia and like any physical illness you deserve to be treated with compassion, dignity and kindness

    • @metropod
      @metropod 2 місяці тому

      Gary is a member of a comedy quartet known as the “Technical Difficulties” or “TechDif” for short. They are most known for two UA-cam panel gameshows; “Citation Needed” and “Two of These People are Lying”. One involves guessing facts about the subjects of mostly randomly selected Wikipedia articles, the other is three of the members picking a Wikipedia article, and trying to bluff they know what the other two’s articles are about. The “straight man”/host/first amount equals in the group is factual UA-camr Tom Scott, who has a set of recurring catchphrase to introduce the other three members and Gary’s is “Everyone’s favorite Gary Brannan, Gary Brannan” After which Gary tends to respond with some weird stream of consciousness non-sequitur ranging from the odd down to the weird. I want you to imagine that man looking straight into a camera and loudly proclaiming “ALL ABOARD THE ZIP-LINE TO THE POOP DECK!” or “I RODE THE QUEEN MARY AND CAME THIRD IN THE DERBY!”

    The painful thing is. It never goes away. It can be minimised, but it will never get back to normal. My sister started showing signs 2months before she graduated. We've had all her episodes, from moderate to worst. She attempted to stab me 2x during her worst. We treated her as part of the family, we tried to put ourselves on her shoe. That our loved ones was still inside trapped on this ill human body. As of now she's like a 7yr old child but less agitated. she doesn't remember anything at all.aside from us.

    THE COVID TABLE I was sitting a table called Grace. When they walked in they were running their mouths about anything but. In fact, they were pissing me off. I took them to their assigned table in the back. Dude said something in my ear shot like, "How do we get it from here." I looked at him and I said, "Your sword." He sat down and elbowed me in the groin thinking I would lie down and take it. I walked. Prayed about it. Mark came in who always gave us a 20.00 tip, due to the hypocrisy, I always gave mine away. This time, I wrote COVID on the 20 dollar bill because we could not pray it away. The plague caused many deaths and loss of income for many. I was making my rounds like normal. The 20 slipped out of my hand near David's table who was Grace the CIA table. The idiot who hit me in the groin found it and apparently told David. David told Sam. I was called into the office. We talked. They saw the vid where he hit me. Sam came at me strong but I stood my ground. David tried to throw me under the bus and I stood my ground. Sam, being a Christian, allowed me to pray in the office thru the whole situation. Another manager made the decision to let me go. Sam and I remained kind to each other because Christians are to be forgiving. I asked for my 20. He hung it on his wall. I explained to him it was a prayer to get our nation back on its feet in health and finances. He kept the 20. I told him to destroy it. I knew it was cursed so I walked away. I will continue to walk away because as an American grown woman, you will not make my decisions for me when you are all living A DAMNED LIE.

    My brother, he is unfortunately a severe case. Our family is all bipolar, so we grew up in a very emotionally and physically abusive home, which didn't help. He made up a lot of stories when we were little, which is something I thought he did to cope, but when we got older I found out how real it all was to him. He has been Institutionalized twice, and doesn't think he has a problem. He thinks people are out to get him, and if you disagree with him then you are with the people after him. He can't have a job, friends, or a relationship. I wouldn't wish my brothers life for anyone. He is a great person, but no one can get to know him to see that. But I wish people could know the real him behind the mental illness. I think mental illness deserves alot more attention and understanding than it gets.
